Product Information

Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge was a second collaboration for Mem Fox and Julie Vivas, author and illustrator of Possum Magic. First published in 1984, it was similarly an instant success, later translated into several languages and published in the US and the UK. Its classic themes and beautiful artwork have also seen it adapted to the stage as a play for children, but its enduring appeal is in the simple words of a story thoughtfully told, and illustrated with humour and understanding.

Mem Fox was born in Melbourne and grew up in Zimbabwe. Since the publication in 1983 of her first picture book, Possum Magic, she has written many other successful picture books, and is one of Australia’s best-loved authors for children. Mem travels extensively to promote books and literacy and writes for publishers in Australia and the USA.
